About Mexican Handpainted Talavera Tiles
Handmade in Mexico.
From 1656, when Spanish craftsmen from Talavera de la Reina landed in Mexico, Mexican artisans began producing Talavera pottery and tiles. Since then, these vibrant hand-painted tiles have graced the colonial cities of Mexico.
Today, Talavera tiles adorn homes, offices, plazas, hotels, and restaurants—blending Spanish, Moorish & Mediterranean influences.
Our tiles are unique, handmade & hand-painted. Over time you may see “crazing” (fine glaze cracks) and subtle colour variances—this is part of their natural charm!

Floors, walls, patios, staircases, swimming pools, fountains, kitchens, bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, benches, countertops, stair risers & entrance doors. Use as full surfaces or decorative insets.

Yes—as accents between other floor tiles or as borders.

Yes on the face—but not inside the firebox.

Yes—but avoid freezing temperatures or extreme weather changes.

- International orders: We do not ship outside of South Africa. International customers are welcome to arrange their own courier or freight forwarder for collection from our Johannesburg premises.
